North Carolina wants to give you a true 25% tax credit on your next production, with a per project cap of $20 million. This credit applies to lots of different costs, like goods, services, compensation and wages, production-related insurance and many other expenses, as well. Qualifying productions include feature films, commercials, episodic television series, reality television, documentaries and much more. According to the North Carolina Film Office, there are a few simple things you have to do to earn it:

-     Fill out the Intent Form prior to production and submit it to the Film Office

-     Spend a minimum of $250,000 in North Carolina

-     Complete the production in North Carolina

This tax incentive is available to anyone who files the forms, completes their production and then undergoes an audit from the North Carolina Film Office. Upon completion of the audit, you’ll receive your credit. For more details about this cost-cutting tax credit, please visit the North Carolina Film Office.
